國內近日發生青年染麻疹，引起家庭群聚感染情事，請大家加強宣導按時接種疫苗之重要性及防疫措施，特別是家裡年滿1歲的寶貝如果還沒接種的話，快點帶家裡寶貝去接種，也別忘了帶滿5歲的寶貝接種第2劑。
麻疹為高傳染性疾病，出疹前後4天均具傳染力，容易由頻繁之國際交流，如旅遊、探親及商務活動等管道進入國內。所有不曾得過麻疹或不曾接種疫苗的人都可能感染，而得過麻疹的人則有終身免疫力。人類是麻疹病毒唯一的宿主及傳染窩，可經由空氣、飛沫、或是直接與病人的鼻腔或咽喉黏液接觸而感染。
衛福部疾管署表示，少數中壯年人未曾感染過麻疹，及部分青年族群雖幼年曾接種疫苗，但抗體可能會隨年齡增長而衰減，如感染後，仍可傳播給家人及同儕等人員。建議民國70年以後出生之成人，如需前往流行地區或工作有暴露風險，可自費接種MMR疫苗，如為自然感染免疫者則不需再施打疫苗。

Recently, there have been reports that some teenagers in Taiwan are contracting measles and the disease being spread through family gatherings. Faculty and staff members are kindly asked to promote the importance of knowing the related measles prevention measures and getting vaccinated at an appropriate time. Especially if your children, over one year old, have not been vaccinated yet for measles, please do so right away; moreover, do not forget to take your children to receive Type II measles vaccination if they are over five years old.
Measles is a highly contagious virus, especially within four days of exposure. It is easy to get infected through interactions such as international travel, family visit (trips), business activities and other such activities that could bring the disease to Taiwan. Individuals who have not earlier had measles or have not been vaccinated have a higher risk of contracting measles. On the other hand, individuals who already had measles have lifelong immunity. Humans are the only natural host for sustaining measles virus, which is spread through droplet transmission from the nose, throat, and mouth of someone who is infected with the virus.
Centers for Disease Control of Ministry of Health and Welfare recently announced that there is a small percentage of middle aged individuals who were not vaccinated and adolescents who were vaccinated earlier, but whose immunity has deteriorated with age. Thus, if they are infected, they could carry the virus and spread to their families or co-workers. Consequently, it is highly recommend that adults who were born after 1981 receive self-paid MMR vaccine before departing for measles outbreak areas or environments. If you contracted measles naturally, then there is no need for you to receive a vaccination.
