Dear students,<\/p>\n

Welcome to Ming Chuan University and to our dormitory family. First, let us introduce you to the dormitory environment.<\/p>\n

I. Dormitory Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ming Chuan University provides student housing on both Taipei and Taoyuan campuses. The Taipei Campus offers a total of 1,770 beds in two on-campus and two off-campus dormitories (579 for male students and 1,191 for female students). The Taoyuan Campus offers a total of 2,380 beds in four on-campus and two off-campus dormitories (854 for male students and 1,526 for female students).<\/p>\n

II. Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dormitories are equipped with air conditioners, Chunghwa Telecom ADSL Internet, desks, wardrobes, bathroom facilities (shared bathroom for 6-person rooms.), a public television in the lounge, rice cookers, refrigerators, self-service washing machines, dryers, and spin dryers.<\/p>\n

Air-conditioning prepaid cards must be purchased by students at their own expense on a room basis.<\/p>\n

III. Dormitory Regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n

As dormitories are shared living spaces, residents are expected to respect the rights of others and comply with the following regulations:<\/p>\n\n

    \n \t
  1. Residents are responsible for safeguarding and properly using all assigned dormitory property. Any damage or loss must be compensated.<\/li>\n \t
  2. Non-resident visitors are not allowed to enter the dormitories without authorization. Residents may meet visitors only in the lobby or common lounge area, and visitors are not permitted to enter student rooms. Parents wishing to visit the dormitory should obtain prior approval from the dormitory supervisor.<\/span><\/li>\n \t
  3. Overnight guests are not allowed (including friends, relatives and other students).<\/li>\n \t
  4. Dormitory access control is enforced by dormitory supervisor and begins at 11:00 p.m. each night.<\/li>\n \t
  5. Residents may not store or use prohibited, hazardous, unsanitary, or disruptive items in the dormitory, including televisions, large audio equipment, video game consoles, electric irons, space heaters, cooking appliances, and other cooking equipment.<\/li>\n \t
  6. Residents must maintain a quiet environment and refrain from excessive noise.<\/li>\n \t
  7. Bedding and clothing may not be hung on balconies, entrances, or exterior walls.<\/li>\n \t
  8. Residents should not drive nails into room walls or attach posters, paintings, or pictures.<\/li>\n \t
  9. After lights-out, residents should not make phone calls, watch television, or engage in activities that may disturb others\u2019 sleep.<\/li>\n \t
  10. Cooking, open flames, candles, fireworks, and similar items are prohibited in dormitory.<\/li>\n \t
  11. Quarreling, fighting, gambling, drinking alcohol, or any behavior that disrupts dormitory order is prohibited.<\/li>\n \t
  12. Keeping pets or other animals in dormitory is prohibited.<\/li>\n \t
  13. Residents are required to participate in dormitory activities as prescribed by dormitory regulations.<\/li>\n \t
  14. Smoking is prohibited in dormitory.<\/li>\n \t
  15. Residents must not damage, contaminate, or misuse bathroom facilities.<\/li>\n \t
  16. Residents are prohibited to possess keys to other\u2019s room personally.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>

    To support students living in the dormitories, each dormitory is staffed by one dormitory supervisor and supported by Student Dormitory Student Self-Governance Association, which assists with student life and residential activities. Drillmasters are also on duty overnight to provide additional support and assistance. The dormitory service desk is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment for all residents.<\/p>\n
